Unique

SOUND

EXPERIENCE

with live music in Prague venue

A powerful combination of very different sounds

The majestic pipe organ, the bright trumpet and the expressive voice of a soprano come together in one varied concert. A soloist from the National Theatre and the solo trumpeter of the State Opera Prague perform famous music by Bach, Gounod, Handel, Vivaldi and Mozart with organ and piano.

The programme moves from dramatic organ toccatas to gentle sacred melodies and brilliant duets. Bach’s famous Toccata and Fugue fills the church with the full power of the organ, while Gounod’s Ave Maria creates a quiet and emotional moment. The concert ends with Mozart’s joyful Alleluia, performed close to the audience as an uplifting finale.

Unique Sound Experience

During this one-hour concert, the performers move between three places inside St. Nicholas Church on the Old Town Square. The concert begins high above the audience on a side balcony, where the soprano and trumpet perform with the organ and their sound spreads through the baroque interior.

They then continue beside the large pipe organ, where voice, trumpet and organ blend together and flow down towards the audience. In the final part, the performers appear downstairs, close to the listeners and in full view.

Thanks to the exceptional acoustics and unique design of the church, each position gives the music a different character. The full sound of the pipe organ creates a powerful experience, while Gounod’s Ave Maria brings a gentle and emotional moment. Mozart’s joyful Alleluia gives the varied programme an energetic finale.
